The short version
You don't sign up. We never see your video chats — they happen in a third-party chat module embedded on our site. We use Google Analytics to count visitors, a few essential cookies to keep the site running, and we may show ads. We don't sell your personal information. You're 18+ to use this site. Anything else? Read on.
Who we are
This Privacy Policy applies to vidizzy.cam (the "Site," "Service," "we," "us," "our"). Vidizzy is a free, anonymous random video chat website where adults can connect face-to-face with strangers. By using the Site, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.
This Policy is written in line with relevant US laws including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the CPRA, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and applicable Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidance.
Information we collect
Automatically collected
When you visit the Site, our servers and analytics tools automatically receive standard technical data sent by your browser:
- IP address and approximate geographic location (country, region, city)
- Browser type and version, operating system, device type
- Referring URL, pages visited, time spent on each page, click events
- Unique anonymous identifiers used for analytics (cookie IDs, device IDs)
- Date and time of access
Information you provide
If you contact us through the contact form or by email, we receive whatever information you choose to send us — typically your name, email address, and the content of your message.
Information from the embedded chat module
Vidizzy uses a third-party WebRTC chat service that loads inside an iframe on our Site. When you start a chat, that third-party service may collect technical data necessary to establish a video connection (your IP address, browser fingerprint, network details, and similar). We do not receive that data from them. See Section 8 for details on third-party services.
What we don't collect
- We do not require account registration. We don't collect your name, email, phone number, or date of birth as a condition of using the chat.
- We do not record, save, or store the audio or video content of your chats — we have no technical access to it.
- We do not collect biometric data, facial recognition data, or screenshots from chats.
- We do not access your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera outside of what the embedded chat module needs to function (and only after you grant browser permission).
- We do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone under 18.
How we use information
We use the limited information we collect to:
- Operate and maintain the Site
- Understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it (aggregate analytics)
- Detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents
- Respond to your messages if you contact us
- Comply with our legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from authorities
- Show advertising on the Site (see Section 9)
We do not use your information for automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Cookies & tracking
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device by your browser. We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies. The categories we use:
Strictly necessary
Required for the Site to function. Cannot be disabled. Examples: session state, security tokens, preference storage. No personal identifier is shared with third parties.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate Site usage (visits, pageviews, traffic sources, devices). Google Analytics may set cookies on your device. The data is processed by Google in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. We have IP anonymization enabled where Google offers it. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on.
Search performance
We use Google Search Console to understand how Vidizzy appears in search results. Search Console only receives aggregated search-query data from Google about clicks to our Site — it does not place tracking cookies on your device.
Advertising
If we display advertising, ad networks may set cookies to measure ad impressions, prevent fraud, and serve relevant ads. See Section 9 for details and opt-outs.
Managing cookies
You can clear cookies, block them, or delete them through your browser's settings at any time. Doing so may affect how the Site works. Most modern browsers also offer "Do Not Track" settings — we respect these signals where technically possible. The Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal is treated as a valid opt-out request under California law.
Your video stream
The video chat is delivered by a third-party WebRTC chat service embedded as an iframe. Video and audio are streamed peer-to-peer between your browser and the other user's browser. Vidizzy's servers are not part of that connection. We cannot see, save, or replay your chats. The third-party chat provider may have brief access to streams as part of routing, moderation, or relay (TURN) services — their privacy policy governs that.
When you start a chat, your browser will ask permission to access your camera and microphone. You can deny that permission, but the chat will not work without it. You can revoke camera/microphone permissions for vidizzy.cam at any time through your browser settings.
Third-party services
To run the Site, we use a small number of service providers. Each handles only the data they need for their specific service. Major categories:
- Hosting and CDN — the company that serves the Site and any content delivery network we use to speed up page loads. Receives standard server-log data including IP addresses.
- Embedded chat provider — a third-party WebRTC video chat service shown inside an iframe on Vidizzy. When you use the chat, you are also subject to that provider's terms and privacy policy. We will identify the current provider in this section as it stabilizes; in the meantime, the chat module loads only after you initiate it.
- Google Analytics 4 — aggregate Site usage measurement, governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Search Console — search-performance data, governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- Advertising networks (if and when applicable) — see Section 9.
- Email provider — if you contact us, your message is processed by the email provider that hosts our inbox.
- Legal and law-enforcement requests — we may disclose information if required by valid legal process or to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for those parties' independent marketing.
Advertising
Vidizzy may display advertising provided by third-party ad networks. When ads are displayed, those networks (and their partners) may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to:
- Measure ad impressions and clicks
- Detect ad fraud and invalid traffic
- Limit how often you see the same ad
- Show ads more relevant to your interests, where permitted
Ad networks may collect IP address, browser information, page-context data, and (subject to consent where required) interest-based advertising signals. We do not provide ad networks with information you've directly given us.
You can opt out of interest-based advertising from many networks at the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page, the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page, or the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance. You can also limit ad tracking through your device or browser settings.
Data retention
We keep technical data for only as long as we need it:
- Server logs (including IP addresses): retained for up to 30 days, then deleted or anonymized.
- Analytics data: retained per Google Analytics 4's default retention settings (currently 14 months for user-level data; aggregated reports retained longer).
- Abuse reports and moderation records: retained for up to 90 days.
- Contact-form messages: retained until your inquiry is resolved, then archived for up to 12 months.
- Records required by law: retained for the period required by applicable law.
Children — COPPA
Vidizzy is not directed to children under 13, and the Site is intended for use only by adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
If we discover that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information promptly. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
Use of Vidizzy by anyone under 18 is also prohibited under our Terms & Conditions, regardless of parental consent.
California rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the following rights:
- Right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and (if applicable) sell or share about you
- Right to delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you
- Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising
- Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights
Categories of personal information we may collect (from California Civil Code 1798.140): identifiers (IP address, cookie IDs); internet or electronic network activity (browsing history on the Site); geolocation data (approximate, derived from IP); inferences drawn from the above for analytics purposes. We do not collect biometric, financial, or precise-geolocation data through the Site.
Do we sell your data? We do not sell personal information for money. Under California's broad definition of "sharing," third-party advertising cookies (when ads are present) may qualify as "sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising." You may opt out of this through the cookie controls on the Site, by enabling Global Privacy Control (GPC) in your browser, or by emailing us via the contact page with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share My Info."
To exercise any CCPA right, contact us through the contact page. Because we don't require accounts, we may need to verify your request through the IP/device data we have. We will respond within the timeframes required by law (typically 45 days).
You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We will require written proof of authorization.
Other US state laws
Residents of certain other US states (including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and others as state privacy laws come into effect) have rights similar to those described in Section 12, including the right to access, delete, correct, and port their personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising and the sale of personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us through the contact page.
International users
Vidizzy is operated for users in the United States. If you access the Site from outside the US, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than your home country. By using the Site, you consent to that transfer.
Where required by your local law (for example, the EU/UK GDPR or Canada's PIPEDA), you may have additional rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection to processing. Contact us to exercise those rights.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the limited information we hold. Site traffic is served over HTTPS. The video chat itself is end-to-end encrypted between browsers via WebRTC.
No system is perfectly secure. If we ever experience a data breach affecting personal information, we will notify affected users and authorities as required by applicable law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our practices, services, or laws change. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective" date at the top of this page and post a notice on the Site. Your continued use of Vidizzy after changes are posted means you accept the updated Policy.
